I thought you might like to see the face behind this web site. Was I right? I am a retired Power engineer and spent 30 years of my life in the power industry working as a Boiler/Turbine Test Engineer. I became involved in amateur dramatics many years ago and have, as some of you know had some marvellous parts during that time. Being born and brought up in Lancashire, home of some of the best “kitchen sink” comedy, I have played most of the leads i.e. Hobson in Hobsons Choice, Raife in Spring and Port Wine, Ezra in The Family Way and so on! I have also directed one or two but much prefer acting. The last play I co-directed was “Rutherford & Son”, a little known play by Gytha Sowerby and quite a challenge to any society. As well as acting I am also Treasurer of the society. My other hobbies include golf and photography and I was honoured by being made Captain of Rossendale Golf Club in 1996 and Captain of Captains in2006. In 2007 I was also Captain of Captains for the Bury & District Captains Golf Society. For something else to do I was Hon. Secretary of the Seniors Section of the Rossendale Golf Clubfrom 1997 to 2007. Although being a young 70! I have been retired now for almost 17 years and can honestly say I have never been stuck for anything to do.
